My Bronzer Collection and Review ....

So I thought I would kick off my blog with my favourite makeup item...Bronzers!!!

L-R Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Medium, No7 Intelligent Colour Bronzer, Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Bronzer, Chanel Bronze Universal, Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer in Ready To Go and Nyx Bonzer in Number 3.

These are currently all the bronzers I own, as you can see I have a mixture of high end and budget buys and powders and creams. I actually like most of these, as I use them for different things and depends on how I am feeling that day :)

Here are the powders swatched in normal light...
Top-Bottom Bobbi Brown in Medium, Makeup Revolution in Ready To Go, Nyx in Number 3 and Smashbox.

Swatched again in sunlight...

Starting with the Bobbi Brown bronzer...
Bobbi describes this bronzer as a "soft matte, silky-smooth bronzer instantly gives skin the look of a natural tan." I totally agree with this statement, this goes on sooo smoothly and evenly and is very matte, so I like to use this as my contouring powder too! This is my daily go-to bronzer as its so easy to apply and you can't make a mistake with this. I have the medium shade, I would describe my skin tone as a pale olive tone (I just made this up lol!!) I am mixed race, however I am not overly tanned as I don't often go on sunbeds etc. The thing I love about Bobbi Brown cosmetics is that they cater to so many different skin colours and tones, so everybody is going to find a shade to suit them. Would I repurchase?? Well the price is £27 and it is a great bronzer and mine has lasted a few months so far, so I would say maybe. There are so many more bronzers to try that are cheaper and I am keeping my eyes peeled...

Makeup Revolution in Ready To Go...
This was my first purchase from this amazing new brand that popped up a couple of months back. So browsing the site, I couldn't resist this bronzer at a steal for £4!!! I am a huge fan of baked products and have lots in my makeup stash, but had yet to add a bronzer. This baked powder did not disappoint, I am a sucker for pretty packaging but for this price I am not really bothered at all, the product speaks for itself. As you can see from the swatches above, it is quite shimmery, but for some reason on the skin it looks lovely...not like a glitter ball at all. It gives your skin a lovely glow adding a little colour, I tend to use this on my paler days when I don't need such a strong colour. I would definitely repurchase this product, but would also love to try some of the other bronzers they have on sale (I'm sure I spied a matte one on their website).

Nyx in shade Number 3....
I have been a fan of Nyx products for a while, since I found them at the Midlands Beauty Show a couple years ago, which is when I found this huge bronzer. It came with a lot of glitter on the top, but because I wanted to use it on my face I wiped half of this off before my first use. This is not a completely matte powder, so not good for contouring, but great as an all over colour. I can see this bronzer lasting ages as its a huge 35g of product and I'm sure I only paid around the £10 mark. So great value for  money (I'm definitely a sucker for a bargain hehe!!) I probably wouldn't ever need to repurchase this as its soo huge and I don't think I have seen it on their website (might have just been a Beauty Show product).

Smashbox Halo Hydrating Bronzer....
I've had this bronzer the longest and is still probably my favourite (I'm a huugeeee fan of Smashbox and have been for years when they sold on QVC!!) I love the packaging (although its now packaged in black I believe). Smashbox describe this powder as a hydrating powder and if you are familiar with their Halo powder foundation (one of my all-time fave powders!!)it works in the same way, by delivering hydration to the skin all day for a brighter more radiant complexion. As this is a mineral powder, it looks better the more you buff it in the skin. It is not completely matte, but delivers a lovely glow and great colour to the skin (not too orange or red!!) The best thing about the Halo powders is that they have a grater, so you always get fresh powder for every use anddd will not smash like a pressed powder would, making it great for travelling!! It is a nice compact 7.1g for around the £20 mark, it has lasted me ages and I can't wait to take this on holiday with me. Definitely a repurchase for me :)

Here are the creams swatched in normal light...

 L-R No7, Chanel

And again in sunlight...
No7 Intelligent Colour Bronzer...
I originally bought this product as an alternative to the Chanel Universal Bronzer, as this is more compact packaging. After using, I have realised they are not the same at all. First of all this is a mousse type texture and goes on better using my fingers rather than a brush. The colours are completely different, although on the skin it does not look that dark at all, I've found that I sometimes have to put another layer on to get the right colour. It actually feels a lot like a primer in texture, however did not notice a difference in the longevity of my makeup. This is rather a Blahh product, I don't hate it but is not something I reach for regularly and I forget its there! Not a repurchase for me.

Chanel Bronze Universal £32...
This was an impulse buy. A lovely cream-gel bronzer, that everybody should own :) I was talking to friends at work and they couldn't believe I hadn't ever tried Chanel makeup. So I asked what is the best product to buy and this was their answer. As soon as I tried it, I NEEDED to have it in my collection and NOW!! It is a beautiful colour for an all over bronzy, glowy look, it smells beautiful and the packaging is beautiful!! I started using this on top of my foundation, with my EcoTools domed bronzer brush, as I would a powdered bronzer and I would get compliments all the time on my skin (Yayy!!) Then I was told I was using it wrong, so tried it under foundation (like a primer) and found that it works equally as well. I think I prefer over foundation and it seems a bit more glowy! Of course this is a repurchase, as its such a beautiful product (just keep thinking of the Boots Points lol!!)

I hope you enjoyed reading my first ever blog post! Which is your favourite bronzer? Please comment below any recommendations or anything you would love to see on my blog. Until next time.....
